Chris & Debs – Medieval wedding at Porchester Castle

Apr 18, 2010

This wedding was so surreal for many reasons – (not least because it was warm and sunny) but primarily because by the time the red sun had sunk behind the beautiful hills surrounding the reception venue in East Meon, it didn’t seem at all strange that I was dressed as Joan of Arc, and that King John & Robin hood has just strolled past with beer.  This was the medieval wedding of very dear old friend Chris and his beautiful bride Debs.  They started their day in st Mary’s Church within the breathtaking grounds of Porchester Castle, and after the service left by van (as Chris pointed out – who needs a fancy car when yours has a fridge?) to the stunning converted barn at Upper Parsonage Farm (http://www.upperparsonagefarm.co.uk/).  There we had tents, falconry, mead, actors, wenches, and a hall laid out like a medieval banquet – with delicious traditional hog roast, vegetables, and ye olde vegetable terrine.

After dinner there was dancing & tomfoolery to be had.  Chris & Debs are the perfect match for one another, and I was so touched that they asked me to record their amazing day.  Congratulations guys, it was a fantastic day, and we love you loads xxx
