Kes & A – skin to skin session

Apr 4, 2010

I am in the middle of prepping for a wedding tomorrow, but I just had to share the loveliest time with Baby A and his mum Kes today, doing a skin-to-skin session.  I hadn’t done one of these before, so I approached it with a little healthy trepidation.  The idea is to get some images of Mum (or Dad) and baby in those precious months when you are breastfeeding (not Dad in this case), and when being naked is the best thing in the world for baby.  This time just flies by, and I so wish I could have had some images taken of my girls at this stage (I had yet to pick up a camera when they were this age).  Baby A and Kes were such troopers.  He smiled his way through the whole session, and we even had a bright day so it could be done with natural light – yippee!  Obviously I have only included images here that are not too revealing or embarrassing (except for A when he gets older – hee), but we captured some really beautiful moments of these two together in this special time that is only for them.  Gah.  Broody now.  But anyway, hormones aside, I can’t tell you how happy these pictures make me – and it is such a privilege to be able to give them to A’s parents.
