Martin & Sue’s wedding at Houghton Lodge
A Houghton Lodge wedding
I had the please of shooting Sue & Martin’s Houghton Lodge wedding, Hampshire today and oh my what a wedding. Sue really wanted the images I took to reflect what a truly special place Houghton is, so I spent some very happy moments wandering around the garden & secret spaces taking pictures of the beautiful plants in bloom there & the stunning vistas, as you can see below (I *might* be slightly obsessed with the handprinted wallpaper in the dining room). Sue & Martin were married in front of their lovely closest family & friends in the gorgeous music room, while Rebecca played on her harp – with sunlight streaming through the exquisite windows it was really quite special.
Thank you both for having me as part of the day, I loved being there with you.
Houghton Lodge Gardens
Houghton Lodge Gardens has been described by recent visitors as ‘the jewel of the Test Valley’, and ‘A Stately Pleasure-Dome on the most romantic river in England’. It has been the home of the Busk family for more than a century, and still is. It provides a perfect setting for corporate entertaining and romantic weddings. Some people visit Houghton for its architecture, some for its literary connections and some for its gardens; but everyone leaves with a sense of its ageless tranquillity and special magic. Little wonder that Houghton was placed second in Country Life’s search for ‘England’s Favourite Country House.’
