Jenny & Alex’s Winchester garden wedding
Another brilliant day with brilliant people. I had been looking forward to this wedding for ages, I had loved the engagement session that Alex, Jenny & I had in the New Forest earlier this year (these two are SERIOUSLY photogenic), and I really love garden weddings – everyone is immediately relaxed & ready to have fun.
So, I rocked up to Jenny’s parents house to a hive of activity, marquee being finished off with beautiful flowers, signs that Jenny and made, and Liz decorating the cake; the lovely ladies from Blooming Workshop tending to the gorgeous wild bouquets & buttonholes, and the team from Court House Catering prepping food.
Jenny & her gorgeous maids getting dressed in beautiful emerald gowns, exceeded only by Jan’s FLIPPIN’ STUNNING Jenny Packham gown from Exquisite Bridal in Winchester. More than one person commented that it was the most beautiful wedding dress they had ever seen.
Flower girl Maddy & Pageboy Miles led us into the marquee where Jenny & Alex were married by David in a lovely Humanist ceremony. It was fun, and relaxed and full of happiness (including a special guest in the form of a raspberry-blowing baby who totally tried to upstage David’s wise words).
The normal things happened; speeches, dinner, group pictures, drinks, dancing…but thats what I love about my job – there is no normal. Every wedding is dictated by & wrapped around the people inside it, and when you have two such lovely, lovely people, so well suited to one another, with loving families & friends wishing them the world, you get something quite moving & magical. Plus Jenny’s one million kilowatt smile 🙂
Thank you so much Jenny & Alex for asking me to be part of your day (and Liz & Steve for being so welcoming, also Ian & the fab ushers for all your help) , I loved every minute of it. Hopefully you are still rocking out to Freddie & the Freeloaders. Here is (part of) your story in pictures xxxx
