Bec & Chips gorgeous day at Houghton Lodge!
I had such a cool day yesterday, with the very loveliest of couples. Bec & Chips got married at a couple of my very favourite places – St Cross church in Winchester, and Houghton Lodge in Stockbridge. Bec even got ready in the most beautiful thatched cottage with additional thatched cottage models inside. I KNOW RIGHT? Nine year old me was freaking out. It was all I could do not to throw aside my camera & play. Thatched meta.
Anyway, back to the wedding! I adore St Cross church, and Bec & her gorgeous bridesmaids looked incredible. Bec’s dear Dad was present throughout the day in so many little touches, from the locket on her bouquet to the handstiched heart in her Sassi Holford dress made from his tie – it was very moving and very lovely to see how they made someone who sadly wasn’t there, still be very much a part of the day.
So, Bec married her Chris/Chips/insert other nickname here. And the fact that there were 200 people at the Masters Garden afterwards to wish them on the most exciting journey of their lives was testament to how loved they are – and it is very easy to see why. I think they are rather brilliant myself. The sun even blessed them with its rays, which seems incredible given the monsoon which has hit today :).
Thank you so much for trusting me to take part in recording your day (along with the videography lovely guys from Mrs Mash Up). I had a fab time, and it was an honour to be there.
Thank you as well to Crumble Catering for feeding us, for Bec & Chips’ family for making me so welcome, and to my 13 year old, who stayed up late so she could pop along at the end & help me with the flash set up for the sparkler shot :).
Oh, and did I mention Myrtle the dog? Myrtle is EVERYTHING.
Here’s a story from your day:
