David & Clare’s Stanway House wedding photography
Many of my couples find & book me online, sometimes (as with these two lovelies) we don’t get to meet until their wedding day. So I am always slightly anxious that these mystery couples will be axe murderers/Ange-haters/cat people/robots from the future, so I am doubly happy when they prove to be like David & Clare – genuine, sweet, & thoughtful people. Also, foxes. We had already chatted via email about their day, so I was really excited to shoot it (steam trains & a giant fountain anyone?!), and Oh My Days it did not disappoint. We had a blast.
We started at Ravenhurst B&B on Pittville Lawn in Cheltenham (which, by the way, is beautiful) with Clare being made even more beautiful (seriously, look at this girl) by MUA Natalie Riccardi & Hair guru Sandra Elizabeth. The rooms smelled heavenly with the scent of the stunning blooms & bouquets by (we *think*, I forgot to check!) Costwold Blooms. Clare & David were married in the Pitville Pump Rooms, before jumping aboard a bus, then a surprise Steam Train ride, to their final designation – the achingly gorgeous Stanway house. The barn had been styled with more flowers & foliage and a hundred small touches by the couple, and the barn was awash with fairly lights, making it quite the twinkling paradise for me. After a gorgeous dinner of pie, mash and Eton mess served with a bit of foodie theatre on dry ice by Jack’s Kitchen, we all headed up the hill to watch the Stanway fountain (the tallest Gravity Fountain in the world, fact fans), and take some truly entraining & chaotic group shots, before heading back to the safety of the barn for bubbles, beer, burgers & boogie-ing (okay, it was a Ceilidh, but I like alliteration).
THANK You so much for having me! Thank you for lending me your lovely GM lens for the day David, for your kindness all day, and for generally rocking the whole getting married thing. You made getting up at dawn more than worth it. Thanks as well to my sterling assistant Emily, for driving, following my addled instructions, and working her pregnant butt off all day! Some of her lovely images are included here. Please click on the names of any of the brilliant suppliers to see their websites.
