Somerley House Wedding: Matt & Penny
I am not even sure where to start with today, such an incredible day, with the most fun people, but start I must so it can only be with Somerley House…
This was my first time at the Somerley Estate, and I am absolutely pleased as punch to have been asked to be a recommended supplier here – LOOK AT THIS PLACE! Penny & Matt also fell in love with it’s wonderful mix of grandeur & friendliness, it’s breathtaking history & architecture, and it’s four million and one places to take pictures. I had 15 minutes of Penny & Matt’s time to take some hero shots with them, and it was all I could do not to bundle them in a bag & make them shoot for about another three hours, but, you know, dinner. Pfft. A Somerley wedding is a special thing indeed, and Penny & her crew were clever enough to choose to stay in the amazing house for the weekend, with a marquee outside to hold the 180+ guests for dinner & dancing.
The autumnal vibe was present everywhere; in the pumpkins and table centres, the marshmallow roasting, and the toffee apples – not to mention the incredible florals by Sarah at Arcade Flowers. The bursts of deep colour & berry reds matched perfectly with the gorgeous bridesmaids dresses & Penny’s killer lip colour (utterly in love with her look today!).
Penny & Matt married at Ringwood Church – Penny arrived in her Dad’s vintage taxi, whilst I travelled in the big red bus with the bridesmaids; Matt’s chariot was the slightly less glamorous but highly entertaining Reliant Robin a’la Only Fools & Horses… These two have been together since they were kids, and have three wonderful children of their own, but this was their day – a day of celebrating the life they have made, and the life they are yet to live.
Thank you so much for having me there to witness your wedding & record it through my lens. A huge thank you to Alex & the wonderful team at Somerley House for making us all feel at home (note: my home is a *teeny* bit smaller though), they worked their socks off today to give Matt & Penny the day they deserved. Thanks to Beales Gourmet for supplying such wonderful meals for us (the fanciest of pies!), and of course to Arcade flowers & William Guy salon for their efforts to make the girls & the day as beautiful as they were. It was great also to work with Brandon from Brand One Visuals – I can’t wait to see his wedding film.
Here is my story of their day…
If you are having a Somerley Wedding, I would love to hear from you.
