Ailsa & Tyler’s Michelmersh Barn wedding
I met Tyler & Ailsa back in February and liked them immediately – because they are warm, and funny, and so well matched. Fast forward to today, and their Michelmersh Barn wedding, and nothing has changed that opinion. I had such a lovely day with them all at this gorgeous venue.
One of the joys of doing my job is getting to be around families, to see relationships play out on this most emotional of days, and to the the threads & strands of this relationships as they weave their way through the celebrations. What struck me today is how these completely lovely people were made – formed in houses filled with people of equal loveliness. To see parents and siblings filled to the brim with strength and humour, adventurousness and daring, thoughtfulness & decency, is to see how Tyler & Ailsa came to be the people they are. I only get to view these families in a capsule, on one special day, and I am so glad that I do. I mean, I could be wrong, despite the evidence of today’s brilliant speeches, they could both be mad kitten killers. But I think not.
So thank you A & T for trusting me to tell the story of your day. Thank you to Lizzie & Lara, and the team at Michelmersh barn for being so welcoming & friendly. Thank you to Andy and the team at The Full Spoon for some seriously delicious food. Thank you to The Festival Folk for some amazing tunes. And thank you all for reading this, God I can waffle on…
