Oxfordshire wedding photographer: Nancy & Pete’s beautiful, sunny, frankly brilliant day

I hadn’t met Nancy & Pete before their July wedding, but we had chatted via email & phone & Skype and I already knew what the day confirmed – that Nancy is a talented photographer, but also a beautiful ball of energy & expression, and that she loves her Pete. And he patently adores her right back.

They met at 16, and after a few meandering paths led them away from each other, they found their way back, through the long grasses & hazy sunshine of Manor Farm, and their friends & family, to be married & find their home in each other.   Jeez, will you listen to all this romance, the sun must have got to me. Or maybe just this utterly lovely couple, and the perfect day they had yesterday is enough to gladden the heart.  My brilliant second shooter Holly & I arrived to a blue sky & fluffy clouds – to 15 groomsmen trying their best not to sweat through their suits in the 30 degree temperatures, and to Nancy, casually sat at the breakfast table updating the day’s planner on her laptop.  Naturally.  Cue the quickest bridal prep ever, with gorgeous bridesmaids Hannah & Fran, and lo! She was a vision in a Caroline Castigilano dress.  Stone. Cold. Fox.

Nancy’s parents Jack & Charlotte, had worked so hard to get their already beautiful farm looking gorgeous – the golden meadows alive with butterflies, drawn down to a lake & a wood, where a shady ceremony was set up, to be led by celebrant Hannah Hart. Beautiful readings (I *did* not cry at ‘Wouldn’t it be nice’), and words of love, followed by a confetti tunnel of major proportions & a shed filled with champagne. Then up the hill to the marquee (I don’t often rave about marquees, but this one by Shades was a stunner), perched above the valley, with huge red kites flying in the thermals above.  I know, I am waxing lyrical a bit, but it really was the most beautiful setting. I may move in.  The cellar was nice & cool.  I can live there.

So yes, there were pictures, and food by brilliant Sue la Bonne (these guys worked so hard), and stunning florals from Flower & Press, Mark Shipperly doing his video thing & being super friendly in the process, music from the brilliant Black Hat Band, and general shenanigans & tomfoolery.  I loved every minute.
